Dreamweaver freezes when syncing ftp

hello,

i use use the current dreamweaver 2017.

when I try sync my local files with a ftp server dream weaver freezes.

i use a macbook Pro with latest OSX.

it is a wordpress page with about 10000 small files.

any ideas how to fix this ?

Toggling "Synchronize Site" off and on again (second answer in that article) cleared this issue for me.
