Dreamweaver Installation Error 198

Dreamweaver isn't installing on my Mac and is  giving me error code 198 "There is a problem installing Dreamweaver". Unable to install the product. Click retry to download and install it again.  I have clicked retry, have tried installing a previous version, and have been restarting my machine between attempts.

 

This seems to have started after my computer, a mac, was upgraded to Ventura 13.7.6

 

Could this be related to the problem that I'm having?

 

Any suggestions would be helpful!

    Adobe assumes you have the latest updates, no more than 2 versions back.

     

    Most Creative Cloud apps work on these systems. Not sure how much longer Ventura will be supported, though.

    • Windows 11 (64-bit) versions 24H2, 23H2; Windows 10 versions 22H2, 21H2;
    • MacOS 15 (Sequoia), 14.7 (Sonoma), 13.6.7 (Ventura).

    What ended up working for me (for now anyway) was to install a previous version.  I went as far back as I could to version 20.2.1

     

    I will have to try some of these other suggestions if I have trouble again in the future.

      It says it "Works on this device" and it is the only Adobe product that I have installed on this computer other than Creative Cloud.

      I couldn't find official confirmation on whether Dreamweaver is supported on macOS Ventura 13.7.6. 

       

      Error code 198 is a known issue when installing Dreamweaver, and it could indeed be related to your macOS Ventura 13.7.6 upgrade. While I couldn't find a direct confirmation that Ventura 13.7.6 is causing this, macOS updates sometimes introduce compatibility issues with third-party apps.

       

      Here are a few things you can try:

      1. Run Creative Cloud as Admin – Open Adobe Creative Cloud and try installing Dreamweaver from there.
      2. Safe Mode Installation – Restart your Mac in Safe Mode and attempt the installation again.
      3. Check for macOS Updates – If Ventura 13.7.7 is available, updating might resolve the issue.
      4. Reinstall Creative Cloud – Uninstall and reinstall Adobe Creative Cloud before trying Dreamweaver again.
