Question

Dreamweaver keeps crashing everytime I use Find/Replace

Hi,

For some reason I can no longer use Find/Replace in Dreamweaver.  Everytime I do, it crashes. It was working fine until today. I have been using version 21.2. I tried using 21.1 but the problem is the same. I also can't use the Live view anymore, it shows all blank...

I have seen other posts with the same problem but no solutions.

Please help as this is affecting my work.

Many thanks in advance

Have you tried the usual cleaning out cache and deleting the user config folder? https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshoot-javascript-errors-dreamweaver-cs6-cc.html

If that didn't work did you try re-installing?

If that doesn't work and you are still experiencing this on multiple versions can you try logging into the computer as a guest or another user and see whether the issue is isolated to a single user account?

Hi, thanks for you suggestions, unfortunately none of these work.

1. There is no Dreamweaver user configuration folder to be found

2. Yes I was on version 21.2, uninstalled it and installed 21.1 instead but same issue

3. I cannot log in as another user, I don't have that option on my Mac.

Please let me know if there is any other way to resolve this.

Many thanks

1. That should not be possible. If the folder is not being re-created you are having system issues beyond DW.  This suggests a root OS permissions issue that is preventing DW from being installed and functioning proeprly.  If you cannot log into the system as another user per #3, then you will need to contact your system administrator for assistance to recreate your system user account and re-install DW.
