Dreamweaver limiting character count in "find and Replace"?!?!?!

I of course had to move to this subscription model silliness, but after mocing to 2017, the "Find and Replace" has a character limit and is STUPID! Why is there a limit all of a sudden? I've had to open and replace code on 600+ pages because of this newly imposed "limit" PLEASE for the love of God, REMOVE THE LIMIT!

If there is a workaround, or anything I can do to fix it, let me know, but I hate Adobe right now.

Very frustrating to say the least. Hours and thousands of clicks to work around it. I'm on a company machine, so installing DW15 would be just as painful.

DW CC2017 can be installed at at the same time as CC2015. Actually, all 5 CC versions available through the Desktop App can be installed on the same machines at the same time under a single subscription, they just won't run at the same time. It only takes a couple minutes to install from the CC Desktop App on a decent connection.

If you can get your IT guys to add it, it should cut down on your frustration level.

I currently have both 2015 and 2017 installed on my production and home machines (W7 and W10) and have zero issues running them. I knew 2017 would have "unplanned features and benefits" I didn't want, so I made sure to turn off the "Remove Older Versions" option in the Advanced dialogue during installation of CC2017.

Hi,

Thanks for reporting this issue.

This has been fixed in MAC.There is no limit in characters in find and replace.

And we have increased the Windows limit as of now to 26,586.

Please stay tuned for the upcoming buildDW_17.1. It should have the fix.

Um NO find and replace is NOT fixed. It keeps crashing and I updated to experience it doing nothing for the first ten minutes, to now crashing.  it keeps crashing.

This has not been answered, but rather drawn out to more frustration.

The Find & Replace character limit is a known bug.   I & others reported it several months ago.

Add your voice to the chorus.

The only workaround at the moment is to revert to your previous CC 2015 version.  If you don't have it anymore, you can get it from your CC Desktop App.  See screenshot.

There is no fix for this problem, but the Dw team have said they are looking into removal of this limit, along with a fix for a number of other problems with 'find and replace'.

To add to the problems I keep crashing DW when I try and "find replace" specific upper case words and replace with lower case. Crashes every time.

Not happy.
