Dreamweaver Live View & Pop-Up Issue

Hello all.

My site uses a javascript to generate a popup and bottom of page banner to generate sign-ups for my email list. The script is supposed to appear once and if closed, not appear again for 30 days. In older versions of Dreamweaver, Live View would honor this request and if I closed it while the site was showing in split view, the popup and banner wouldn't reappear for a month.

With this latest update to Dreamweaver 19.1 (Mac) the pop-up and banner appear on every page I attempt to edit and even when I close them, they re-appear on the next page opened to edit. I've searched and searched and cannot find a solution that works.

Does any one have a suggestion for making this stop? Thank you in advance for any help.

Hi Chrisg77479,

Thanks for reporting. We are sorry that you are facing issues with Dreamweaver.

Can you please share below information with us to investigate the issue at our end:

1) Have you used any protocol relative URLs for the related resources/assets, in your document

2) It would be helpful, if you could share your site files or the page with which you are seeing this issue and also share the site URL link

3) Have you defined any testing server for your site. Are you loading the document from testing server.

You should be able to hit F6 to Freeze/Unfreeze javascript, or go to View > Live View Options Freeze/Unfreeze or Disable Javascript.

Thank you for the quick reply. When I open a page, I tried hitting F6 - same result as above. Then in the menu, View/Live View Options/ the options for Disable Javascript and Freeze Javascript are both greyed out. I also tried hitting F6 immediately after clicking a page to open it with no change in result.

I believe that on the live site this script places a cookie so it knows not to display again for the set time. The older version of DW seemed to honor that but isn't any more. Never had this problem until upgrading to the new version.

I'm sorry, I forgot that you have to also put a check by View > Live View Options > Hide Live View Displays to enable Freeze/Unfreeze and Disable
