Hello, we recently installed a local web server under CENTOS and we decided to make the modifications from a Dreamweaver under Windows 10 (samba share to allow modifications between Linux and Windows), but as soon as a modification is made on the website with Dreamweaver, we notice that the rights change on the modified file ( example : index.html rwxrwxr-x --> after modification index.html rw-rw---- ) Why does Dreamweaver change the rights on a file ? ( wrong setting, not possible, ... ) ?

Which operating system do you use to create files?

What happens if you transfer files with FileZilla S/FTP client?

    https://filezilla-project.org/download/

    Changing File Permissions using Filezilla

    1. Open Filezilla and connect to your account.

    2. Navigate to and select the files/folders you wish to alter permissions for, Right click > File Permissions….

For security reasons, the recommended permissions settings are as follows:

    Folders/Directories: 755  (-rwxr-xr-x)

    Single Files: 644  (-rw-r–r–)

    Some Sensitive Files such as wp-config.php:  440 or 400 (-r–r—– or -r——–)

Please note: It is never recommended to have 777 (-rwxrwxrwx) permissions set on any file or directory.
