Dreamweaver on mac - searching for image takes a long time

Hello dear community members,

I just switched from the Windows version of Dreamweaver to the Mac version (Windows laptop needed to be replaced). On Windows, I was using an old version of DW (CS4). On the Mac, I have the latest DW 2021 (CC).

My issue is : When I open a new file, the file loading is faster. However, when I have to use an image, and I use the insert button, the search window opens. First, the window does not show the root directory for my website, but searches "this mac". The wheel keeps spinning. Once the wheel stops, the results are all over. It takes a long time to get to the correct image.

How can I improve this search within dremweaver? Thanks for help!!

1. Did you define your local site folder?

2. Does your local site folder reside on your primary hard drive?

3. Are your images optimized for the web and saved to your local site folder? See screenshot.
