If I already published the site, everytime I try to preview the html page, it starts to update my published website. That is very dangerous! How can i change it?

Correct answer Nancy OShea

Previewing would not commit changes to the server.  But saving the files would if you have checked the option to automatically upload files to server on save.    See reply #2 again.

Go into your site definition settings.

  1. Site > Manage Sites > Servers > Advanced tab.
  2. Turn off the option to automatically upload files to server on save.  See screenshot.
  3. Hit Save.

That is dangerous, so much so that it would put me off previewing for ever.

Having said that, I tried to replicate the problem without much success. Perhaps you could lead me through the process that you are using. I have already setup a test site so that it will not harm my production sites.

I develop the page or correct any error that I found and then i try to preview it by clicking FILE/REAL-TIME PREVIEW. Imediatly the local site gets conected to the remote one and begins to upload all the files on the folder.

Did you save the file before previewing?
