Hi

My CC Dreamweaver has been running out of memory too fast for about three months now. I was hoping the update would resolve this and it has not. Might there be a local resolution or...?

Thanks for your time in advance.

Birnou, the latest update seems to have resolved some of the issues. I hopefully it improves from here on out.

I did nothing just get back to DW focus and have a look

I can't work with such a soft... so I swap back to DWCS6, it launch twice faster and is really really... less greedy...

I don't have memory problems with DW on Windows 10 desktop.

Can you tell us more about your system's OS & memory?

How big are your site folders and files?

Describe your workflow?

Hi Nancy,

Thanks for your assistance. I am on a Mac, using the CC Dreamweaver, fully up-to-date.

The entire collection of website files I have totals to 4.65GB. I manage 158 active accounts, but only one at a time. The average folder size currently is 100Mb with mostly images accounting for the file weight.

I notice Dreamweaver can not manage a copy and paste, then shortly after that I get a warning of low memory. Then when it can publishing anything, even though it say it is doing, I try to quit it, but can not. So I force quit the application.

The application lasts about 4 hours of heavy activity, coding, file saving, uploads, downloads, etc.

This is a new thing since last November. I have since then also clean off my hard-drive with a clean install and new admin user profile in January.

Thanks, Teejay

Below are the basic system requirements.  That said, your user experience will be better with a faster chip, bigger hard drive and much more RAM.

macOS

  • Multicore Intel processor with 64-bit support
  • macOS v10.13, macOS v10.12, or OS X v10.11
  • 2 GB of RAM (4 GB recommended)
  • 2 GB of available hard-disk space for installation; additional free space (approximately 2 GB) required during installation. Dreamweaver cannot be installed on removable flash storage devices.
  • 1280x1024 display with 16-bit video card
  • Internet connection and registration are necessary for required software activation, validation of subscriptions, and access to online services.

After long editing sessions, I sometimes have to close DW.  But I don't have any trouble with copy & paste of plain text.
