Dreamweaver STILL deleting local and remote files

This has been going on for quite some time now - at least since CC 2015. Whenever I sync remote files to my local files (remote overwriting local) and click the "Delete local files not on remote" option, both the remote and local files get deleted. And it's usually into the thousands as I solely use Wordpress to build sites. Is this ever going to get fixed?? I've spent countless, unpaid hours fixing my clients' sites because Dreamweaver keeps deleting unnecessary files and crashing sites. Is it possible it's a time stamp issue?? I know it's not user error as I've been using Dreamweaver and the same process for at least 4 years and never had an issue until CC 2015.

In all the years that I have been using Dreamweaver, this has happened to me once, and well yesterday. I was so flabbergasted that I burst out laughing. I have seen this problem mentioned in the past and would not believe it. Now I have experienced it myself.

I am so glad this happened because now I can give you a serious answer. In the past I have only used the 'Put newer files to remote' option because the changes occur on the local system. This time I was less careful.

Secondly, I will never tick any 'Delete' box, deleting files will be done by me. When I delete a file locally, I will delete the same file on the remote. On the odd occasion, I will use the 'Get newer files from remote' option without executing the option so that I can get an idea of what files I have missed/forgotten to delete in the past. This time I had it clicked

My motto: don't rely on automatics, think of what happened to the occupants of a Tesla in two separate incidents over the last months.

Oh! When I lost my files, I merely restored them from my backup, all in all losing about 15 minutes most of which was taken up with my outbursts of laughter.

INever once used the Sync/Delete feature. Without a solid versioning process in place, it never felt safe enough...

Agreed ... I don't use the sync feature either, in fact I don't even set up remote sites in Dreamweaver, just a testing server. I prefer to use another app for remote transfer and be more hands on due to extreme paranoia on my part ....
