Question

Dreamweaver, Wordpress, and MAMP

Has anyone been successful with running Drameaver on a local (hard Drive) Wordpress server, via MAMP?

I have been able to install MAMP, and successfully work in Wordpress through Chrome. But I want to also work in Dreamweaver, specifically use templates (update-able) inside of Dreamweaver. When I try to open the site, Dreamweaver runs a discovery process, but ends up with an error. I am sure that I have the correct directory as I have triple checked it. Any thoughts?

See David Powers' tutorial for setting up a local php environment.

The only WordPress files I work with are Theme files (i.e. style.css, header, php and footer.php).   Discovering dynamically related files is not critical for that.   The error message is probably caused by Permalinks but it doesn't prevent you from working with the code.
