I have the Dreamweaver 8 ---------- deleted MOD ---------- Disc AND Dreamweaver 8.1 AND Dreamweaver 8.2

Can I use these on a Windows10 PC

I do not want to have to work in the cloud.   I want to remain free for use on my own PC

Thank you

    Hi @davidlewin,

You are misinformed about Creative Cloud software.  It is NOT cloud based.  It is subscription based.  CC apps download and install on your PC exactly the same as they always have.  And you save files to your local hard drive exactly as before.  You may try DW CC free for 7 days, after which it will convert to a paid annual subscription plan if you don't cancel beforehand.

    Please see the system requirements.

DW8, 8.1 and 8.2 are all the same version.  The only difference between them is that 8.2 had the last known bug fixes.  That said, grossly outdated web authoring software is totally and completely useless for the modern web.  Don't waste your time with it.

Get a free or paid modern code editor to use instead. Whichever one you decide to use will be 1000% better than DW8.

    ================
    MODERN SITE BUILDERS:
    -- Adobe Brackets (open source) - http://brackets.io/
    -- Adobe Dreamweaver CC - https://www.adobe.com/products/dreamweaver.html
    -- Pinegrow - https://pinegrow.com/
-- Visual Studio Code (open source) - https://code.visualstudio.com/

Finally, you will need a working knowledge of modern HTML, CSS and to some extent JavaScript code. Without knowing code, it's unlikely you'll get very far.

Read the chapters, do code exercises and take quizzes at the end.

    Good luck! 🙂

Brilliant!!   it works,  Thank you so much for teacjing me.

I get away without knowing html code by using the Design View.  It helps no doubt that my pages are as primitive as they go and occasionally I copy a bit of code from one location to the next.

Hard to say if it will work or not. Dreamweaver 8 came out in 2005 - 15 years ago. Why not just try installing it and find out? Keep in mind, though, that Adobe does not support its older software anymore, so you're more or less on your own. Also, Dreamweaver 8 will not support today's web standards.
