[DW 19 on macOS] No category CSS in the tag library editor: How to configure the format?

Hi.

In the my old version of DW I configured the format of CSS in the tag library editor.

Now there's no category for CSS, please see my screenshot below.

I also checked the window "CSS designer", without success.

Where can I configure the format of CSS code please?

Independent of this question:

I tried to help myself on Dreamweaver Help | Dreamweaver User Guide

It seems that there's no search field only for that user guide.

A global search on the adobe website is - of course - not helpful.

Hi Nancy.

Probably you missunderstand my intention.

If not, I disagree with your opinion.

Formatting of code, which is edited by humans, is relevant. The format effects the readability.

In the german userguid it is mentioned, that you could configure the format of CSS.

CSS-Code in Dreamweaver formatieren

Wählen Sie im Dialogfeld „Voreinstellungen“ die Kategorie „Codeformat“ aus.

  •
Klicken Sie neben der Option „Erweiterte Formatierung“ auf die Schaltfläche „CSS...“.

Translation:

Choose Preferences > Code Format > Click the button "CSS" next to the Option "Extended Formatting"

In older versions of DW, you could format CSS code.  That all changed.  For modern coders, it's no longer relevant.  The CSS code is compiled from the SASS/SCSS preprocessor files.   In other words, we don't look at the CSS code anymore.

Not sure what you are asking, CSS has no tags, it has selectors and properties. See CSS Reference

Hello Ben. Thanks for your answer.

Sorry, when I was not clear enough.

Sure, I know that CSS has no tags.

But as far as I remember the options to format CSS have been provided in the tag library editor.

What do I mean with "format CSS"?

Should there be a line break after a "{"?
Should every declaration should get an own line or not?
...
Where can I configure that in DW 19 please?

CSS formatting is irrelevant.  The CSS is auto compiled and compressed when the SASS/SCSS file is saved.

Go to Manage Sties.

Select the CSS Preprocessors Tab.

Chose output file style.  See screenshot.
