DW 2019 (macOS): Wrong order of folders and files in window "files"

I use macOS Mojave.

The order of files and folders in the system file manager is: folders first, files second

Example

/a

/b

a.html

b.html

DW 2019 mix them up.

/a

a.html

/b

b.html

Is there any way to change it?

Another strange behaviour is the sorting of folder/file names with numbers.

The system use the good one:
1

2

...

10

11

DW uses the bad sorting:

1

10

11

...

2

Is there a way to change it?

Thanks

Correct answer Jon Fritz

If you right click in the Files panel, just above your actual files list to add in the Type column (among others) to allow sorting by different criteria. Once added, clicking the Type column header will organize your files alphabetically by type (folders on top or bottom).

@Jon

Thanks for the idea.

But of course that methods sorts different file types as separate groups.

That is not my wish.

The bad sorting as you call it is how computers handle integers.

Use leading zeros.

001

002

010

020

100

200

@Nancy

Of course I know how to use leading zeros. I don't like it.

Generally I prefer it, when a software does, what a human beeing has choosen. And not vice versa.

In my humble opinion it is a bug, that DW does not sort not in the same manner like the OS does.

What do you think?

I don't regard this as a bug because that's how my server sorts records.  DW is a web authoring app so I expect the same logic.    If it really bothers you, switch to your operating system's file manager.
