DW 21.2 Copy paste Failing to keep formatting

Hi

I am not new to DW but the 21.2 version seems to lose formatting after I copy and paste from a word document. The first time I do it it keeps the formatting after that every thing gets pasted as palin text....

    DW is not a word processor and should not be used like one.  It's web authoring software. Stripping out MS Word junk code is a good thing.  😇

     

    Switch to Design View.

    Go to Edit > Paste Special and select Text Only or Text with Structure.

    Do not introduce full formatting from MS Office.  Instead, use CSS to style your HTML content.

     

    Validate code and fix reported errors.

    Window > Results > Validation... check document.

    You had it right in the first answer way below, not sure why you thought I am using DW as word process. I like the Junk code to be cleaned....

    The issue was not with the version, it was related to the view mode I was working on.

      Hi Nancy

       

      Thank you for your help! It turns out my split screen defaulted to Code-Live instead of Code-Design. When it was switched to Code-Design the paste with structure now works correctly.
