DW CC 2017 - Issues with Background File Activity and Synchronization

As the title implies, since upgrading to Dreamweaver CC 2017 and then 2017.0.1, I've had issues with the Background File Activity (BFA) window displaying files properly, as well as synchronization completing its task in full.  First, when I'm synchronizing site files it only lists a small percentage of the actual files in the BFA window, then truncates the list and fails to show anything after...it's just a partial list.  The sync action (usually) continues to perform as I can see it working at the bottom of the right-hand column within the program.  But if there are errors during the process or files don't all sync, I have no no way of seeing what they are because the BFA window never updates the list after it becomes truncated.  As well, saving a log from the BFA window just results in the same truncated list within the log file...it's a partial list that fails to provide me the actual information I need.  Here is a screencap of the truncation within the BFA window: https://i.sli.mg/SLHYPJ.jpg (I've blurred elements for privacy reasons)

This leads me to synchronization in general.  I can't think of a single instance since updating to the latest CC version that the synchronization process has completed an entire folder without issue.  Every single time I run the functionality it always tells me that a certain amount of files were not completed.  Doesn't matter which host I'm working with, if I'm syncing a folder to or from my local machine it is always, always incomplete and I'm forced to run synchronization 3-4 times to ensure ever single file is synced properly.  If I'm syncing only a handful of files, it seems to work fine, but whenever it is required that I sync an entire folder (usually from the server to my local machine), it fails to run in full every single time.  I remember this issue happening occasionally with previous versions of DW, but with CC 2017 and 2017.0.1 it happens all the time and has become a serious frustration while using the program.  I maintain enough websites that I'm dealing with the issue almost daily...the time waste is becoming enough of a problem that I'm considering looking for an alternative program if it cannot be resolved.  If I tell it to sync, it should sync.  I'm not over wifi...I'm on a 60Mbps ethernet connection using reliable hosts...

Any input on these issues would be GREATLY appreciated.  Note that I did see one possible fix for the BFA window not displaying properly by running the program with certain comparability settings at program launch, but that did not address my BFA truncation issue at all.

I don't think there is an option to disable background file activity in DW.

Are you opening files from a remote location?

I am having the same issue with Dreamweaver 2021 and yes, I am working from a remote server that is behind VPN security.

This is an old discussion from 3+ years ago. 

Which operating system do you have?

Did file sync ever work for you from any version of DW?

I spent almost an hour with Adobe chat. In the end, I needed to delete both Dreamweaver 2020 and 2021 to get rid of all synced or saved plug-ins and preferences. Then re-install the 2021 version only. This worked. But I had to set everything back up the way I like again.

I can agree that BFA is pointless for monitoring mass ftp transfers and a dedicated ftp client like Filezilla is better suited for multiple file uploads than DW is - am I wrong here?

It can be easier to use command-line installs like npm modules if it isn't local files you're uploading and is worth taking the time to learn.

Can Background File Activity and Synchronization be switched off.

I've take out site info and tried to get rid of any info that might suggest a requirement for activity yet it still persists.

I don't think there is an option to disable background file activity in DW.
