DW CC 2019 doesn't execute includes

In the attached images there are two instances of the same page in design view, in DW CS6 and DW CC2019.

The difference is because CC2019 doesn't read three of the "virtual includes" in the code:

<head>
<!--#include virtual="/ssinc/ggle.inc" -->
<meta charset="utf-8">
<title>Αν ερχόσουν</title>
<!--#include virtual="/ssinc/hd.inc" -->
</head>

<body>
<div id="shell">
<!--#include virtual="/ssinc/nv.inc" -->
<h3>Αν ερχόσουν</h3>
<table id="elems">

Am I missing a setting or what?

Thanks

To translate what Hans said...

Go to Edit > Preferences > Invisible Elements.

Server-Side Includes:  ☒ Show contents of included file.

Hi geotso,

in all of my newer versions of DW I can't read the includes entries. I found out to use in my german DW

Voreinstellungen >>> Kategorie >>> Unsichtbare Elemente >>> Server-Side Includes >>> Häkchen bei "Inhalt der enthaltenen Datei anzeigen".

What means in a Google translation something like

Προτιμήσεις >>> Κατηγορία >>> Αόρατα στοιχεία >>> Ο διακομιστής περιλαμβάνει >>> Επιλέξτε "Εμφάνιση περιεχομένου του περιεχομένου αρχείου".

If ist doesnt work at the first click, please repeat this action.

Here is the related screenshot:

Design view was created by Macromedia in a previous era, it is next to useless in today's environment. Adobe is gradually evolving Live view to replace Design view. As such, it is better to use Live view where possible or, as I do, rely on an actual browser.

Wappler is the DMXzone-made Dreamweaver replacement and includes the best of their powerful extensions, as well as much more!
