Question

DW changes code

When I save a web page and then reopen said web page the code formatting has changed. I have checked and my web page has no erros. This has been a problem for me for many years. I know my formatting is not the way most people probably format, but it is what I have been doing since 2006. I am NOT a web designer, just an old fart who does not want his formatting changed. A solution would be so much appreciated. I'm not the brightest, so it is probably something very simple.

Code Format is based on your code theme's LESS file.

    See sceenshot.

I use a Brackets theme from Github called RubyBlue. You'll find several code Themes you can use there.

    https://github.com/Brackets-Themes/

To customize indents and spacing above or below tags, go to Preferences > Code Format > click on Tag Libraries button.

After editing each tag, click OK and Apply settings.

To apply code formatting, click the paint bucket icon on your Common Toolbar.

    Hope that helps.

We are house pet sitting till Monday afternoon so I can't check my desktop till we get home.

Nancy, I have never touched tag libraries or the bucket. I have to do every single tag library?

I guess my best bet would be to open all of these up on my laptop, make a list, copy the entries, and when I get home make sure all of them on my desktop match my laptop??

    Anything else I should try?

Github looked interesting, but right now I just want to get this working.

Thank you very much. If it works you will have made an ancient grandfather very happy.

Nancy, regarding tags ... I have 120 and then there are CFML tags, ASP.NET tags, JSP tags, JRun custom library, ASP tags, PHP tags, Template tags, XSLT tags and SVG tags. Do I have to do all these too?? Rick Adams
