DW creates an MFC5717.tmp file and after quitting the document the HTML file disappears

Hello,

I have a problem with Dreamweaver and although I want to save a html file to my network drive, DW creates an MFC5717.tmp file and after quitting the document the HTML file disappears. But only on this drive does it happen and not if I edit and save it on a different network drive. I have already tried and reset the default settings and also deleted. Unfortunately that did not help. Can someone help me maybe.

    I have tried it with an older version of Dreamweaver: it does not work.

    Try going to Control Panel -> Sync Center -> Manage Offline Files and select "Disable Offline Files" and restart your system.

    Only a guess now.

    It may be that the MFC stands for Microsoft Foundation Class, which is a set of api's created by Microsoft. On the network drive this file may be required to enable file features such as read/write for Dw to access the network, and once the api is no longer required it is deleted, (document close).

    The use and creation of MFC api files was commonly required when using older network drives with newer OS's, or an older OS with newer network drives.

    Hello and thank you for your answer.
    But how can I fix the error. The problem has suddenly surfaced and before that it worked quite normally.

    The first thing to do is check if any updates have been applied to your OS or the network drive drivers. Such problems are often one of the driver, (in your OS or the network) being replaced by a newer version or even an incompatible, (or wrong) version during an update.

    It may even be worthwhile downloading an older version of Dreamweaver, (if you are using the latest version) and checking that Dw itself is not causing the problem.
