Does anyone know about a good tutorial for setting up DW with AMPPS to be used as the testing server?

I use Wamp server.  But you can use Mamp or Xampp and the default web folder of htdocs if you prefer.  See screenshots from Site > Manage Sites...

    Hello Nancy OShea
Yes, exactly what i nead. I dont think it's a problem you are using WAMP and I am asking for a tutorial for AMPPS. The basic and principle is the same as long you you have the basic understanding about webservers and how the webserver works.
On the 5th picture can see you have a setup for both remote server and testing server, one of each purpose. Is there a special reason for this? I mean, cant you use the same www-folder for both of those server accounts in DW? Or do you move files manually forth and back between the folders if there a two different folders?

Using a testing server in an independant way, is important if you work as a team, or if your client want to see anything before being posted. (so you will have three spaces (Remote, Testing (being some how in a remote place for being accessible for team and/or client, but distinct of Remote)) and Local)

if you don't need these stage (for your team and/or your client), the best way is not to have Remote and Testing being located at the same place (that is not recommanded at all), but having Local and Testing in the same local folder ... so... that way you can develop and test before posting. (so you will have two spaces, Remote on your web server, ....  and Local plus Testing being helped by the AMP stack)
