email link not working

I know the simplest thing in the world but I cannot for the life of me figure out why my email link (say hi) is not working on this page:

The reason that "Say Hi" is not selectable is because there are layers with display: fixed covering it. Either delete the blocking layers or play around with z-index.

At the risk of sounding like a tape loop, MAILTO links on websites are a very bad idea. I can't emphasize this enough.

 

1. MAILTO is not reliable.  It won't do anything unless the end user has an email client installed on their device. Many people have abandoned client-based email in favor of web-based services. Or the site owner provides an online chat or direct messaging system for customers to reach them.

 

2. You're putting your email address at risk for exploitation by bad actors. Addresses contained in the HTML MAILTO tags are easily scraped and abused by robot harvesters & spammers.

 

If you don't have one already, use a secure contact form & script with front-end and back-end security.

    thanks Nancy - youre 100% correct of course and Im aware - unfortunately the production world uses exclusively mailto - its considered impersonal when connecting with a person rather than a general inquiry ie https://prettybird.co/ - I dont use my personal email or even my regular business email and have significant spam protection in the meantime - eventually when I get new reps I may consider that once their contacts are up - but duly noted
