Error inserting code

Occasionally I will get this error message.  it's usually when I am entering in code from a panel or shortcut key.  This particular one came when adding an img tag from the Insert panel.  click the button, select the image, then this pops up.

I should note that this happens when editing a classic ASP that uses a includes for the header and footer, and I am not defining a site.

It implies that whatever you're doing should be done in the Template.dwt file.

As you probably already know, ASP (Classic) is not moving forward anymore and MS replaced it with ASP.NET in 2008.  DW has dropped support for ASP site developers.  You would probably be better off using a Microsoft product for ASP sites.

Please explain what you mean by "should be done in the Template.dwt file". Adding an image into any html file (php, asp, aspx, cfm, whatever) should be easy peasy.

And yes, I am painfully aware that Dw is dropping support for classic. But legacy sites are just that, and still need to be maintained. FIWI, MS is not dropping support for classic entirely, just as they wouldn't drop support for VBScript which predates it.  And have you tried Visual Studio? Yikes-a-million.  If I have to I will eventually break out my old copy of Homesite+

Also, personally I do appreciate your replies/responses, even if Adobe is not on my good side at the moment.

An undefined site folder is a problem.  DW can't manage assets if it doesn't know where to look for them.

For legacy sites, you might want to drop back to CS6.
