Extension Manager problems

Has anyone an answer as to why I cannot install extensions using Dreamweaver CS3 and the latest version of Extension Manager (1.8.169. I have tried a number of extensions (free and bought) which should work with CS3 and all give the same error message. "The installer file is invalid. The extension will not be installed"

I´ve tried reinstalling DW CS3 (evaluation version) on a freshly imaged PC with no previous Adobe software installed and still get the same problem.
Any help is most appreciated.
Jim

If you just recently downloaded the extensions, then you may want to try downloading them again, and perhaps with a different browser. I've heard previously that sometimes the download may not complete correctly, or some other issue with the browser in question at the time of the download occurred and can cause this issue.

Thanks Danilo
I tried your suggestion and still no luck....
I think the next move is to wait for a new evaluation version of DW CS3 (available after July 1) and try a fresh install on my PC usiing a hard drive image I have of my setup from before I originally installed the evaluation version I downloaded a while back

Thanks for the reply Michael. Unfortunately that was the first thing I tried but it doesnt work either!

I think my next move will be to try to install on a different PC just to make sure the glitch isn't due to my OS (Windows XP recently updated to SP3 via Microsoft genuine download

Jim

PD:
Now installed on a second PC setup with XP SP2 and getting the same problem - could this be some form of corruption in the installation? Wierd because DW CS3 seems to be working perfectly otherwise....
Just tried to get another evaluation download of DW CS3 but none available at Adobe until July 1 ...

Also tried installing a freeware Flash CS3 extension from the Adobe Exchange and having the same trouble with that

If anyone has any ideas please shoot..... ):

If you are trying to install via the Ext Manager interface, instead try
simply double clicking on the file in Windows Explorer. Or vice versa.
