External Validation

Hello:

DW 18.1 on MacOS 10.13.3

When I look for help with code validation I find this current (dated 2018) web page

    https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/optimizing-debugging-code.html#set_validator_preferences

and a heading "Set Validator preferences".  The paragraph below that says:

In addition to the standard W3C Validator, Dreamweaver supports external code validators that you install as extensions. When you install an external validator extension, Dreamweaver lists its preferences in the W3C Validator category of the Preferences dialog box.

That's all it says about external code validators -- the material just below is about using the W3C validator.

My question:

How does Dreamweaver support external validators?

Looking for interface description.  A simple example would be nice, too.

TIA

Correct answer Preran

The team confirmed that there are no external W3C validator extensions. I am checking with the documentation team to update the article. Meanwhile, I suggest following Paula's instructions.

I am checking with the documentation team but this is my understanding of the feature.

After you download and install a validator extension, you can set preferences for the validator using the Preferences dialog. I was unable to find a third party extension for HTML/CSS validator through a search engine or through the Adobe Add Ons site Creative Cloud

Please do wait for the experts on this forum to add to what I said.

Thanks,

Preran
