Extract not working

I noticed this has gone unanswered in other threads, but thought I would try again.

In Dreamweaver when I open the Extract window everything is grayed out. I was trying to follow a tutorial from Adobe, but I can't get the window to work. I signed out and back in. When I re-opened Dreamweaver the window was briefly active, but then grayed out again.

Update:

Tried a third time and it is now working properly!?

Not sure - maybe I tilted my head in the correct direction
