Question

File modification date

Dreamweaver USED to keep the server's file modification date when it downloaded a file. That is, if you had a file dated 1/1/22 at 3:00pm and downloaded it on 5/10/22, the local file would be dated 1/1/22. Now it just takes today's date.

Why did this change happen?

This is using version 21.2 in Windows 10.

Do you have the file modification date label turned on in your Files Panel?

Right-click on Local Files to select column labels.

It goes without saying that if you GET a file from your remote server, it will change the date modified to current date & time.  AFAIK, it has always worked that way.

    FileZilla does the same thing.

Dreamweaver used to keep the date. There is/was a lovely search feature to let you find all files by date also. I suppose it is a moot point if Dreamweaver is dead.

Filezilla keeps the server date, there is a setting for that. Look in Transfer menu.
