File Saving Problems

Is anyone else seeing problems working with large numbers of open files in Dreamweaver CC 2018? I had about 50 files open (all in code view) so that I could do some bulk changes. Some of the changes took. Some didn't. The files appeared to be changed, but when I reopened them the files were in a mixed state of saved and unsaved states.

I don't have this problem when using DW CC 2015.

I gave up on 2017. I'm thinking that, in combination with the interface "improvements" that make it hard to keep track of my cursor in code view, I ought to write 2018 off as well.

    Hi Mike,

To try this locally we would need some more details like below

    1. Which OS?

    2. Bulk change means you doing some change which propogates to all files or you are editing files one by one?

    3. Do you see this issue happening every time you try?

    4. Files open are of what type?

If you could share a gif/video of issue happening then it would be of great help.

    Thanks,

Thanks, Lalita. I'm using Windows 10 (the latest update). I had about 50 files open. I was in code view and worked on the files in two ways: some small edits that were accomplished by selecting and deleting text and some small changes that were accomplished by selecting and then dragging and dropping the text. I also made some changes using the Find and Replace option (applying the changes to all open files). Oddly, the changes showed as having been made in the files (I checked before saving). I saved the files repeatedly (locally), checked them, and then closed them.

I have no idea why the saves seemed to have worked in some open files but not in others. I've been editing the same files on the same workstation today (and last night) with DW 2015 and have had no problems saving.

    Thanks,

    Mike
