I am using macromedia dreamweaver 8 and I want to place an image gallery in a web page, dreamweaver is telling me I need fireworks 4 or better to do it through dreamweaver.

Problem is I can't find it anywhere, does anyone have a link to it online or a version they don't use that I could buy off them

cheers

Fireworks was discontinued by Adobe back in 2013. Based on the code that was generated between it and Dreamweaver 8 at the time, I would consider looking elsewhere for a solution. If you have a CMS (Wordpress, Drupal, etc.) there are plenty of plugin options available. If you post back about your specific cms we may be able to provide recommendations.  There are a few php/mysql options I was able to dig up through searches that may also be of use:

https://www.tinywebgallery.com/

https://piwigo.org/

Coppermine Photo Gallery

Or there may be hosted solutions available as well if you don't have the capability to run the hosted script or don't want to manage the complexities.

Fireworks CS6 (the last version made)  is End of Life and only available as a legacy app via subscription to the Creative Cloud Full Apps Plan.   You can no longer buy Fireworks separately.

I agree with Ben's assessment.  The code generated by Fireworks was very poor. The last thing you need in a modern website is inferior code generated by a has-been graphics app.   Run away....

Project Seven has some very nice Photo Gallery extensions for DW.  But you would need to ask  ALsp if  they are compatible with DW8 which came out in 2005.

Responsive Web Design Extensions, Apps, Add-ons and Plugins for Dreamweaver

If you're familiar with jQuery plugins, Fancybox3 is a lightbox viewer and slideshow that is responsive and touch enabled for a better mobile experience.    I have a working demo of Fancybox 3 below.

Alt-Web Demo :: Responsive Masonry Gallery

Single license: $29

Fancybox3 - https://fancyapps.com/fancybox/3/

For non-coders, there's Wow Slider.  Unlimited sites: $79

WOW : jQuery Slider w/o Coding : jQuery Slideshow
