Very basic problem: I have many, many sites in the site-manager of dreamweaver. Is there a posibility to group the sites into customer-folders or groups? Do anybody know?

it can be interesting to share tips and tricks on how to manage multiple sites ... beyond 50 projects it becomes unusable, and the fact of grouping clients or modules remains a matter of individual.
hence the exchanges that can bring ideas to others...

Site definitions are merely text files (aka  .STE) telling DW where local files are stored.

    C:\Client A\site1\

                 "     \site2\

                 "     \site3\

    C:\Client B\site4\

                 "    \site5\

                 "    \site6\

It is a request that has been formulated for so many years, but that has never been fulfilled.

maybe someone here will have a method of organization... for my part I had explored the AdobeDreamweaverSettingsSiteDefs.xml file to see if we could cheat, but not too much illusion...

so since then, I name the sites
    CLIENT - Project

and when it's web app internal

    PEM - PROJECT - Module

(PEM Stands for Puce et Média the organisation in which I'm involved in)

so they are grouped in a coherent way, client first then by project name (Project and module... anyway you got the point)....

But, I go further, I export all the differents STEs... and when I have to work on various projects I import only what is necessary on the fly, but they still grouped by client if needed... it's very flexible, it is very fast and smooth to operate, it avoids endless lists and it does the job quite nicely...

the only hitch comes sometimes from the artifacts caused by the synchronization withe cloud, that import a bad list depending on the last sync
