Folders on Top? DW CC 2017/MacOS Sierra

Well, this is frustrating. MacOS finally allows true folders-on-top sorting in Finder... but I can't figure out how to make DW do it in the files pane.

I am aware of sorting by type, but that doesn't accomplish the same thing. It groups file types together, and what I want is folders first in alphabetical order, then files in alphabetical order regardless of type.

Am I just missing how to do this, or is it that it's not possible?

Correct answer Nancy OShea

Change the Sorting Order from Ascending ↑ to Descending ↓

Click the Local Files arrow.

Ascending files show folders on top.

Descending files show folders on bottom.

Hope that helps.

I see grumpy robot did not answer your question. I wonder do moderators even read what you post. You said " Im aware of sorting by type!!!!!!  I have same problem. The correct answer is there is no way to do it. in windows dreamweaver puts folder first. Sorting by type there are still other files about the folders.

have a good one!

@BillPetros, unfortunately, this isn't exactly what you're looking for, as it doesn't place folders first in alphabetical order followed by files. It might be worth filing a feature request with Adobe to see if they can add this functionality in future updates. I hope that they will listen to you, while I doubt it.

no sorting by type option to click on.

It's there. Just hidden.
