form validation

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out how to do form validation... I need to make it so a user can't have a space in their username when they register and I need to make it so they have to type in their email twice and spell it the same... To do this, do I have to user Spry?  I can't understand how spry works from the books on dreamweaver I have...
