Format Source Code has stopped working

I'm using DW CC 19.1.  "Format source code" has simply stopped working.  Nothing indents at all.  My code validates clean and works fine, and my format settings are set to "indent with 4 spaces".  But nothing indents.  Any ideas?

Okay. Yes, I tried your suggestion, but still no change.

I have noticed that occasionally it will arbitrarily shift a tag or two, but in ways that don't make sense. And then it leaves the rest of the code unchanged.

Maybe I need to uninstall and reinstall?

Use the Adobe CC Cleaner tool before you re-install.

Use the Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems

SOLVED!  I uninstalled and reinstalled DW CC 2019, and the problem is 100% fixed. Thank you all for your suggestions.

I also tried your code, and it's working fine on mine (latest CC version on Win 10)...

When things suddenly stop working & you've ruled out code errors, Restoring Preferences can help.

Unusual behavior in Dreamweaver? Try restoring preferences.

I tried resetting the preferences - twice - and still no luck.  I have checked the code in validator.w3.org, and Dreamweaver gives it the green checkmark too.  It says HTML in the file extension box at the bottom of the screen. My Dreamweaver is up to date. Still no formatting. I'm out of ideas.  I think this problem started when I finally got around to moving from CS6 to CC a couple of months ago.

Do you think it matters that I'm using WIndows 7?

There have been issues with 'Format source code' especially where PHP code is concerned. The latest prerelease of Dreamweaver appears to fix these issues (from what I've seen anyway) inlcuding some issues with code indentation.

If you feel it was working and suddenly stopped working and you hadn't updated Dreamweaver I would in the first instance check you code for errors because Dreamweaver seems to be a lot more prone to 'strange' things happniing in code view if you have code errors these days.

In the first instance do a quick W3C validation.

The code validates fine and there is no PHP in it.

A bad/unrecognized/wrong file extension could cause that.

Child pages of .DWT Templates won't allow you to format the locked regions.

Having the wrong file type selected in the bottom left of the Document Window might cause an issue or two.
