Frequent Crashes on Dreamweaver & System Instability - macOS Tahoe 26.2 (M3 MBP)

Hi everyone,

I am experiencing frequent crashes with Dreamweaver on my MacBook Pro (M3; November-2023 series) running macOS Tahoe 26.2. The triggers for these crashes are very inconsistent; sometimes it happens while deleting a character/word, other times while closing a tab, or even during normal typing.

I have encountered similar issues, though less frequently, with Adobe Animate. (I haven't had the chance to extensively test Photoshop, Illustrator, or Premiere yet).

Additionally, I am facing prolonged "Beachball" (spinning cursor) issues when opening or closing files like Photoshop or PDFs. I also experience this occasionally within Apple Pages, but I haven't been able to test other applications yet.

Is anyone else experiencing these stability issues? If you have found a solution or a workaround, could you please share it?

(Note: I currently have an ongoing legal case with Apple via the Consumer Arbitration Committee regarding this device, so I cannot upgrade/downgrade to Sequoia until the process is finalized.)

Best regards,

Can you confirm what version of DW you are using? There were some issues with some earlier versions, but the latest 21.7 has been pretty stable for me with an M2 Max Mac. I haven't had any severe issues and Photoshop and others have been working fine.

When you say you have crashes with other programs, my first reaction as a Mac user is did you use the migration assistant to move from an old mac to this one? If so, there have been many articles and mentions to never use the migration assistant and to manually move files from one computer to another. As a long-time Mac user you could try creating a new user account on your computer and see if that resolves your issues for you. I had to do a user migration a couple times in the past where user accounts become corrupted over time and setting up a new user account fixed everything. Then it was a matter of moving docs/pictures/etc to the new user account and deleting the other one from the computer.

"I urgently need to use Dreamweaver right now, but today's entire shift has been wasted. I cannot afford to lose more time if I’m to finish my work. Working under these conditions is pure torture."

I keep all my Adobe CC applications fully up to date; whenever an update is available, I install it immediately.

Today, I needed to use Dreamweaver and it crashed at least 20 times. I have submitted crash reports for more than half of these incidents.

The issues I’m facing with macOS Tahoe are too numerous to count. I started using Tahoe 26.0 when it was first released and immediately encountered "Finder Delay" issues, where desktop icons wouldn't appear, requiring a Finder restart. I contacted Apple Support 8 to 10 times, but they were dismissive. A month ago, I performed a clean install and downgraded to Sequoia. I have now taken legal action and filed a lawsuit against Apple regarding these persistent issues.

During this process, Apple Ireland contacted me and asked me to test the "Finder Delay" issue on Tahoe 26.2, so I upgraded again. While I have yet to see if the Finder issue persists, a multitude of other problems have surfaced. Apple Mail is crashing. Safari and Pages are failing to copy-paste correctly—pasting only about 50 words of a long text—while InDesign handles the same task without issue.

To be clear, basic troubleshooting like "creating a new user" will not solve this. I have been using both Mac and PC since 1993. When I monitor Finder and check the logs, I see over 400 errors and 200 timeouts within just a one-minute window.

The system is simply not functional for professional work at this stage.

Best regards,
