FTP error occurred - cannot connect to host. [Branched from 2017 topic]

Question

Its Feb 2023 and I am getting the same error. "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. User limit reached or not authorized to make the connection due to local firewall blocking FTP data." Latest OS, just transferred everything to a new computer, so .... ANybody find a solution between 2017 and 2023 to this?

The answer to this question depends on your hosting plan, operating system, and which version of Dreamweaver you have.

Some servers have upgraded to new Open SSH security protocols while others have not.

Try connecting to your remote server with free FileZilla Client. Post back with your results.
