In case you missed it, it's now official.

Microsoft permanently disabled Internet Explorer 11 with the Feb. 14th update of Windows 10.

If you try to launch IE, you'll be directed to MS Edge.  Same goes for legacy users on Windows 8/8.1.

At least they got the branding correct, says it all doesnt it 'Internet Explorer'........'Edge',  ' Chrome',  'Firefox' not so much. Every dog has its day.

I remember several years back, a friend got a new Apple Macbook computer after having used Windows for a dog's age at work.

He asked me "Where is my 'Explorer' thingy?"  I said, "you mean your Internet browser?  Apple calls it 'Safari' - click on the compass icon."

He said, "well, I guess that makes sense."

Safari makes slightly more sense as a branding for a browser because its a bit of an adventure when you use the Internet. Some of the other browser names are just meaningless  twaddle, to me at least.
