Help! Dreamweaver crashing immediately after startup

when i finally installed dreamweaver i got some firewall message about node.js or something and due to me being a regular person i didnt read jack squat and pressed allow access and when i opened a template it crashed, so i opened it again and now its just instantly crashing. any fix for this?

Thanks for writing to us. Can you please try resetting Dw app preferences and see if the issue gets resolved else we will investigate the issue further.

Also can you please provide below info.

1. OS and machine details

2. Is the crash seen with opening file types other than templates

3. Dw version

my only preference were just the two preferences you choose at the start (workspace and theme)

A corrupt Preferences file can cause all kinds of issues, and they tend to go corrupt fairly randomly, even shortly after a fresh installation.

Follow the steps on restoring your preferences, even if you haven't changed anything in DW. It's possible that it will take care of the issue without a full uninstall/reinstall.

If you have restored preferences, and DW still crashes, run the cleaner tool and do a reinstallation: https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html
