Hello

I need some help with changing from one hosting plan to another hosting plan in the same  Godaddy.

I have like 5 website there, which only one has a wordpress attached to it.

Is this too difficult?

I've never done this so, I don't feel very comfortable.

Thanks for your help

I've done this... the wordpress site will not transfer over - at least it didn't for me. You will need to recreate it. When I did it, I actually pulled my site out of wp - it was a nightmare. The rest is easy...

Thank you all for your responses.
I just moving everything to the new server and because I don't have a WordPress site on it, I don't need to worry about it any data or sql stuff :-)

However, Godaddy is becoming very expensive and charging fees for everything.

Any new hosting place that you are using now?My next move should be to MOVE everything out of Godaddy.

Again, thanks a lot to all of you!

I'm no cheerleader for GoDaddy hosting.  But the costs associated with hosting vary based on your needs and to some extent your skills with servers.    Shared Linux hosting usually costs much less than VPS or Dedicated servers.

Things to consider when comparing hosts and hosting plans:

    • Set-up & transfer fees,
    • 24/7 tech support,
    • 99% uptime,
    • PHP & MySQL databases,
    • Server storage capacity,
    • Bandwidth allotment,
    • Number of email accounts,
    • Number of domains,
    • C-Panel ,
    • Server management agreement,
    • Regular security updates & patches,
    • Annual, quarterly or monthly billing.
    • SSL Certs for HTTPS://
    • etc...

Ask your host to migrate your sites to the new server(s).  You may have to pay a fee but sometimes it's worth the extra cost to have it done right.

Your WordPress files & SQL data should be backed up regularly in case of failures.   If you're not doing that currently, you should definitely do it before the migration just in case.

Just call GoDaddy Support, follow the prompts to technical support for hosting services, then explain what you need to do to the CSR who takes your call. Either this person will make the switch for you or connect you to another CSR who will.

I never used godaddy, but anyway, if you just change plan... the web hôtel should manage everything for you... after all you will stay in between the same company... at least all the partner that I work with here in France are working the same... except for dedicate server
