Help to get started with PHP

in dreamweaver, just start a new page, and save it as a .php file

click on code, and your away.

The Dreamweaver help pages will lead you through the basics of setting up
your PHP site in DreamWeaver, and get you started with simple operations.
Once you've done that, take a look at:

http://www.php.net/manual/en/index.php

Not to sound old-fashioned or anything, but you could go to a local
bookstore ;-)
