Linking Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Dreamweaver for automatic updates is not directly supported as a native feature between these two applications. However, there are some workflow strategies and tools within the Adobe ecosystem that can help streamline the process of using Illustrator graphics in Dreamweaver projects, making the update process more efficient, if not fully automatic.

Workflow Strategies to Streamline Updates:

  1. Creative Cloud Libraries:

    • Shared Assets: Utilize Adobe Creative Cloud Libraries to share assets between Illustrator and Dreamweaver. When you save your Illustrator graphics to a Creative Cloud Library, you can access these assets directly from Dreamweaver.
    • Updating Assets: When you update an asset in Illustrator and save it to the same library, the new version becomes available in Dreamweaver. You will need to refresh or reapply the asset in Dreamweaver to see the update, but this eliminates the need to manually re-import each file.
  2. Export and Import Efficiently:

    @Zesty_self2868,

    Don't believe everything Chat GPT says. It's flawed and frequently hallucinates. A study of Chat GPT articles containing 115 medical references found that 47% were completely fabricated, 46% were authentic but inaccurate, and only 7% were authentic and accurate. 😮

    The true story is that the so-called 'round-trip workflow' in Dreamweaver never quite panned-out. Adobe subsequently abandoned it.

    To use vector graphics in web pages, first export or convert your artwork to SVG:

    Hope that helps.  Good luck with your project.

    ChatGPT may not know that DW is on life support in minimal maintenance mode. What exactly are you trying to do? If you edit an asset in an illustration app and upload it to your server or overwrite an image file your editor will see the changes. Depending on your workflow Figma may offer more integration to your web platform as opposed to Illustrator even.

    Short answer: No.

    There used to be a connection between Photoshop and Dreamweaver, but that connection has since been deleted by Adobe. In fact, many features have been deleted from an aging Dreamweaver to the point that Dreamweaver no longer features as the tool of choice for serious web developers.
