Question

How do I import from DW CS3 to DW CC 2018

Since I cannot reactivate my original DW CS3 (too old), I decided to subscribe to DW CC 2018.

I have a number of sites in CS3. How do I open my site files in CC 2018? Or, how do I import them?

Go to Site > New Site and define your local site folder.   Example, C:\MyTestSite.

Under Servers tab, enter your FTP log-in credentials and root directory.

Hit the Test button to confirm it works.  Save settings.  Repeat for your other sites.

    Hello Nancy:

Thank you for your answer. I was trying to open my existing sites in CC 2018 without having to type in settings again. But I have now got everything going.

The CS3 activation servers were taken down a while back, however you don't need them if you have a valid copy of the programs.

Adobe has an offline version of CS3 you can download and get code to bypass the online activation (as long as you have your valid copy's activation code).

Here's where you start: Activation or connection error when starting CS3 or Acrobat 8

I always find this one a bit of  a funny one. It depends i guess on how many sites you have?

If you have literally 100s then it might be a problem. If you have 20/30 why not just redifine the site folder in CC2018 when you come to work on one of the sites, it only takes a couple of minutes. You're not likely to be working on 20/30 sites in one hit.
