how do I update my blog on my site?

So I recently downloaded Wordpress and I got it all set up and I can open it in dreamweaver and everything.  but now I just need to understand the correct process of putting my wordpress blog onto my site.

I know how to edit and post new posts in wordpress, thats simple enough, but its all on http://localhost/DATABASENAME/blog  but thats not my website of course!  I need it to go to www.MYDOMAIN.com/blog,  so is it a matter of putting all the wordpress files onto my remote server and just linking the blog navigational button to the index.php?  or does it work a bit differently?

and when I update my blog in the future, would i have to reupload my wordpress files to the remote server again to get it updated?

thanks

Log-in to your remote site from an internet connected browser:

http://your-domain-name.com/wp-login.php

Type your ADMIN log-in and password.  This should bring you to the WP Dashboard.

that place doesnt exist though, the only way I can access my wordpress stuff is on http://localhost/DATABASENAME/blog and stuff, its not on my website, I dont think I did anything to actually connect it to my websitte because I never seen that happen in any tutorials.

I know there is one place in the settings for the wordpress blog where I can change some url's but I dont really understand what they mean.
