wel, a few days ago I started with my book Adobe Dreamweaver Classroom in a book. I arrived at lesson 6 and it's about the extract panel. Now I've read that it's not available anymore. But I don't know how I can open the PSD from the lesson in to dreamweaver to continue the lesson. Is there someone who had the same problem and how did you fixed it?

    Correct answer Jon Fritz

The Extract Panel was removed from DW in 2022.

    Some alternative workflows.

    1. Go to Site ⇒ New Site. Define a local site folder for your project. See screenshots below.

    2. Use Photoshop’s File ⇒ Export ⇒ Export As panel to create optimized images for the web. Save them to your hard drive.

    1. Use Dreamweaver to build your HTML structure and CSS styles.
Go to File ⇒ New ⇒ Starter Templates…

After you SAVE, DW Creates Asset folders for you in your Local Site folder.

Post back if you have more questions.

You must have a very old Classroom in a Book.

DW is a code editor. It doesn’t open Photoshop PSD files.

Dreamweaver and the web support these files types. See screenshots below.

    Hope that helps.

    Here’s Adobe’s Help file:

    https://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/using/dreamweaver-integration-extract.html

”Learn how to quickly translate your PSDs into HTML-based web designs for mobiles and desktops. Extract CSS, images, measurements, fonts, colors, gradients, and much more from Photoshop directly into Dreamweaver.”

It’s been four years since Peachpit published a Classroom in a Book for Dreamweaver.
