How to link up git with dreamweaver?

I have the site on Dreamweaver that is ready to become a live site and I download GitKraken but I can't seem to associate a Git Repository with this site?

I have used preferences on my mac and Dreamweaver but it doesn't seem to work still.

You may need to create a new site definition from your existing files. I think I recall hearing somewhere that you can't add Git after the fact, it has to be done when the site defintion is first created.
