Question

href links don't work in live view and sometimes not in preview in browser

The only way I can test some of my links (stripe for instance) in my dreamweaver page is to open the page directly from the folder with chrome. Live view doesn't open any links and "Preview in browser, chrome" sometimes doesn't open them either. Also under preferences, there is no "Preview in browser" item on the left hand side.

What can I do to make a web building software operate href links. Thanks

Do you have a testing environment? When you say preview in browser is not opening links that you have with Stripe it sounds as though the testing environment you may have is not sufficient enough to handle your pre-production needs. The reason for this is even if you switch to another editor it could very well do the same to preview in the browser, but if the browser cannot preview with the testing server then that is an issue that is independent of your editing software.

    • To test links from Live View, use Ctrl + Click on links.
    • Remember, DW is not an actual browser. It's a code editor.
    • Live View is an approximation of what you can expect to see in some but not all real browsers. And performance may vary by devices.

It's always best to examine work from actual browsers— phones, tablets & desktops.

    File > Open in Browser...
