Question

HSL() color newer functional notation

Wondering if there are plans for Dreamweaver to support the newer space-separated value HSL notation in terms of color preview pop-ups. The new notation works fine in the code (doesn't trigger an error), but we don't get that little pop-up previewer for the newer HSL space-separated syntax/notation.

    Not likely.  But if you want to use HSL or HSLA (with transparency) despite some browsers lacking support for it, feel free to.

    Or you can stick with Hexidecimal, RGB or pre-defined color names (red, brown, antiquewhite...) that have widest cross-browser recognition.

    It's more than acceptable using HSL, given it's long been supported by every modern browser with 97%+ coverage.

    Just wondering if Dreamweaver expects to add this preview pop-up and generally support things like in the future. Maybe this isn't the right place to post my question. Is there a way to ask Adobe or the Dreamweaver team to suggest new features section somewhere? I think I may have accidentially stumbled onto the 'We're Sour on Dreamweaver" support forum by accident. 😉

    LOL, that's a funny funny joke. Weve been asking Adobe for years to clarify what their intentions are. I doubt you'll get any answers that you could even trust.

    It's not a case of being sour its a case of you backing the wrong horse. Dreamweaver is not a web editor that will keep pace with modern development, that at least they have disclosed.

    Read what you will into it but DW is now only minimally maintained, whether that includes introducing new options in the code pop up prompts is anyone's guess, but don't hold out too much hope and yes having the hsla color space option is now, in my opinion, a much sought after simple but useful addition in a modern web editor.
