I have Dreamweaver cs5 I want to change the line space

I am trying to write a paragraph and want to change the line space of it but it keeps putting <p></p> when I push enter to go to the next line. I don't want to do that I just want it to go down 1 line not a new paragraph.

    Use Shift + Enter or add a <br> tag to your code.

    Check your work in multiple devices and zoom levels.  <br> tags can get awfully messy when used incorrectly.
