Your laptop is, I guess, a Windows 11 computer and you installed and activated Dreamweaver CS6?

What is the error you are getting in the FTP log and what are the specs of your new laptop? As mentioned, CS6 is very old and it is possible that the newer OS is causing issues with CS6 and it may need to be run in a compatibility mode or it may run into issues. You can also download FTP software like filezilla ( https://filezilla-project.org/ ) with the same credentials to see if you experience the error and whether it is isolated to DW or to your web host.

Excluding for a moment that CS6 is 10+ year old software that's outdated & unsupported, did you create a new site?

Site > New Site.  And did you correctly enter your server's S/FTP log-in credentials and root folder?  See screenshot.

When you hit the TEST button, does DW connect to the server?

If not, click on > More Options.

The Internet & devices people use today have changed significantly since 2012.  Nobody should be using outdated web software in 2023.

What error are you seeing in the FTP Log?

Go to Window > Results > FTP Log to open it, then try uploading. It should give you the reason you're not connecting.
