Question

I use Dreamwer CS6 on Windows 11 for years. Today, the Dreamweaver program will not open.

My copy of Dreamweaver CS6 was registered with Adobe in 2014.

I am retired and cannot easily afford a continual subscription to a more modern version of Dreamweaver.

How do I enable my copy again?

(Note, in the list of cartegories below, I cannot display ‘Dreamweaver’, only the word ‘Questions’ which appears just below the word  ‘Dreamweaver’)

What error are you receiving? If it is about exceeding your activation limit, then you need to open up your old computers and deactivate the licenses on those before you will be able to install. If you don’t have access to those unfortunately Adobe no longer resets activation counts and you may need to consider alternative solutions. If it is another error please post what you are seeing and we can try to guide you if this is an installation error that can be overcome or a licensing error that may not.

Thank you for answering. 

There are no error messages. My 2 old computers are dead to the world.

I click on the .exe icon in the taskbar as usual, and the hourglass appears for a moment, and then is gone. Nothing else happens. I installed Dreamweaver CS6 on this computer in October 2024.

I don’t know whether this will help you to help me.

Well, last night when I shut down my computer, closing the various application windows - browser, email client,password manage, image client, notepad and so on, behind this all was Dreamweaver! 

I clearly had a sever panic attack yesterday and didn’t notice the little highlighting dot below the taskbar that the program is opened. 

However, today, again, a small window opens when I start Dreamweaver - see below:

I had registered my copy of Dreamweaver in May 2014, I have a pukka serial number that presumably I paid for, but 12 years later I do not remember and my records were trashed by the dead computers also burning the external hard drives etc. 

Please would you advise how to progress? Can I escape from this “trial”, who do I talk to? (I am in France.)
