insert image absolute link

using Dreamweaver 2021 on Mac, when trying to insert image and use absolute link am unble to insert.

what am I doing wrong?

DW cannot manage absolute links for you because they don't reside in your local site folder.

Switch to Code view and type the absolute URL manually. For example,

<img src="https://dummyimage.com/500x500" alt="placeholder">
