I see windows problem discussion on same problem and remedy was to delete WinFileCache-BFE7CE2E.dat and it worked!! according to Win user.  Got the same problem on Mac version.. I realize Adobe has discontinued support but said they do fix issues on the current version.

Actually quite a few items under 'Insert" doesn't do anything.

Uninstalled-Reinstalled ...no help- MacOS UpToDate.   Any help would be helpful.

Correct answer pacaron

Thanks Nancy: Restore Preferences did the trick. We're back up and runnin'. I'll remember that for future reference.

I rarely if ever use tables because they're not responsive in all devices.  That said, the Insert > Table function works exactly as expected for me in LIVE & DESIGN view.  See resulting code.

<table width="80%" border="0">
<tbody>
<tr>
<th scope="col">&nbsp;</th>
<th scope="col">&nbsp;</th>
<th scope="col">&nbsp;</th>
<th scope="col">&nbsp;</th>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
<tr>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
<td>&nbsp;</td>
</tr>
</tbody>
</table>

When unexpected things happen, it's almost always related to code errors.

1. Validate code and fix reported errors.

Window > Results > Validation.  Check document...

2. If that doesn't help, Restore Preferences as described below.

3. If that doesn't help, run the Adobe Cleaner tool to wipe DW off your system.

https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/cc-cleaner-tool-installation-problems.html

Restart computer.

Perform a clean reinstallation of DW from your Creative Cloud Desktop App.

Hope that helps.
